Heavy metal music to modern grime and rap music, Birmingham is said to be the home of the likes of Black Sabbath (led by Ozzy Osbourne), Mike Skinner from the Streets, UB40, Duran Duran to lady leshur and Jaykay also originate from Birmingham. 

Music is one thing the city is famous for, hosting  over 50 festivals each year. 

There is also a thriving manufacting history in the city!

It has to be said, Birmingham has become alot more infulencial over the years thanks to the popular show Peak Blinders. Somewhat a meme of the city and a show Brummies are proud of. 

Birmingham is an awesome place to live and work for youngsters and entrepenueurs. Our city has the youngest population in the continent, with under-25s accounting for nearly 40% of our population which is pretty amazing. 

With over  400 schools, 15 universities and three University colleges within one hour's drive of the city, Birmingham is a very eductated city rich in manifacturing and industry history.

According to google, this is because in the 1972 reorganisation of local government in England and Wales. The government created a county (within the West Midlands region) called “West Midlands”. This covers Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton, and Sandwell.

After Greater London and Greater Manchester, the West Midlands is the third largest by population size! there are over 2.4 million people living in the West Midlands.

This is a word that shows a person as being a resident of a particular place, and the word is usually derived from that place's name. In the case of Birmingham, 'Brummie' comes from Brummagem, a name for the city used by locals since the 1700s.
